The Passion Pearl is one of my original cocktails that is the product of my one birthday ritual, to create a new cocktail. Maybe since it falls in June I keep finding myself going back to rum and vodka (one of them flavored), but one of the previous drinks,
Sweet Summer Days, follows this line as well. There are a few companies who are producing passion fruit vodka, including SKYY, Smirnoff and 42 Below (not available in the US yet) and it is becoming easier to find. Otherwise you can always
infuse your own.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 oz rum
- 1 1/2 oz passion fruit vodka
- 1/2 oz triple sec
- 1/2 oz lemon juice
- 2 dashes Angostura aromatic bitters
Preparation:
- Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
- Shake well.
- Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
