The Raspberry Caipirinha replaces the lime of the traditional Caipirinha with fresh raspberries, which are muddled with sugar and lime juice. It's a fantastic variation of Brazil's national drink that is full of flavor and perfect when fresh raspberries are in season. It can also be shaken after the muddling and strained into a cocktail glass for a refreshing raspberry-flavored Caipirini.
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Leblon cachaça
- 6-8 fresh raspberries
- dash of lime juice
- 1 1/2 - 2 Tbsp superfine sugar
Preparation:
- Place the raspberries and lime juice into an old-fashioned glass and add sugar on top.
- Muddle well.
- Fill the glass with ice, then add the cachaça.
- Stir well or shake it.
- Garnish with a raspberry.
