The Third Rail is one of those powerful, oldie but goodie cocktails that I found in my first edition, 1939 copy of Just Cocktails. When I say powerful I mean it, it may even be as intoxicating as today's Jager Bombs, but it tastes far better. Here we have a mix of applejack, rum and cognac with a touch of absinthe for extra appeal. The Third Rail is not a drink to mess with but one that is guaranteed to captivate your taste buds.
Ingredients:
- 1 oz applejack
- 1 oz rum
- 1 oz cognac
- 1 dash absinthe
Preparation:
- Pour the applejack, rum, cognac and absinthe into a mixing glass filled with ice.
- Stir well.
- Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
