A Tom and Jerry is a classic winter cocktail and a must try for every explorer of the drink world. It's a sweet, frothy, warm drink that is flavored by dark rum and, usually, Cognac (other brandy can be used).
It's best with hot milk, which makes the drink thicker than if you were to opt for hot water.
In response to one reviewer's question: If you do not like the thought of drinking raw eggs you can use one of the artificial egg substitutes. They're not quite the same but will do the trick. More about drinks and eggs here...
