Tasting Notes
Blanco
This clear tequila has a very soft fruit fragrance dominated by citrus tones and accented with a crisp earthiness and spicy pepper. As a contrast, the palate is a silky, sweet citrus that is filled with honey and vanilla. A final snap of pepper leads to a long, pleasant finish. Although it is a stimulating sipper, it is also the most versatile of Tezón’s tequilas for mixing in cocktails. Drinks with light mixers like a Paloma allow for the flavors of the tequila to continue to shine.
Reposado
Elegant is the perfect word to describe this Reposado. The light straw-colored tequila has a floral nose with accents of lime and a subtle woody undertone. A rich, smooth entry opens a run on flavors that range from vanilla and spice to a notable citrus. The finish is clean and crisp with a pepper snap. While it can serve as an excellent mixer, this Reposado is best appreciated straight.
Añejo
A piece of art for the palate, tequila at its finest. The oldest of the tequilas, the Añejo contains a markedly woodier characteristic than it’s compatriots and is comparable to a fine Cognac. Rich earthy tones of straw and oak can be taken in from the golden spirit with the added fragrance of sumptuous butterscotch and thick vanilla. A pure agave feel with a surprising velvety smoothness and the butterscotch and vanilla promises are fulfilled in a wash on the palate and linger long after. To mix this tequila with anything would be as big a shame as not enjoying every sip.
