Pablo Moix, from STK in Los Angeles created this Crafty Maestro along with the Dobel Spicy Chill. Both of these cocktails show off the lovely new tequila, Maestro Dobel Diamond, with interesting uses of peppers. This Crafty Maestro is the milder of the two and in the end the red bell pepper is fantastic with the mint and tequila, even if you wouldn't think so at first.
Ingredients:
- 1 red bell pepper ring 1/2 " thick
- 8-10 mint leaves
- 2 oz Maestro Dobel Tequila
- 3/4 oz lime juice
- 3/4 oz simple syrup
Preparation:
- In a pint glass [or mixing glass or cocktail shaker base], muddle the bell pepper ring and mint.
- Add all spirits and mixers.
- Shake vigorously for 6 seconds.
- Strain into a cocktail glass.
- To garnish, drop a bell pepper ring in the glass and add a mint sprig.
