The Madagascar Margarita is a new twist on the ever-expanding Margarita line up and it's quite tasty. The modifier in this cocktail is not an orange liqueur but a vanilla liqueur, namely Navan, which is delicious. So with that flavor to soften everything up so there needs to be a kick and in this instance it comes via a jalapeno pepper. Add a touch of sweetness from agave nectar and the balance of the drink is found. You can spice it up to your tastes by using a bit more pepper, but take it easy as it's easy to burn a drink.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 oz Navan Vanilla Liqueur
  • 1 1/2 oz premium light tequila
  • 1/4 jalapeno, muddled
  • 1 barspoon agave nectar
  • jalapeno pepper for garnish

Preparation:

  1. Muddle jalapeño in the bottom of a mixing glass.
  2. Add the other ingredients.
  3. Shake and serve in a rocks glass with a jalapeño garnish.

Notes: You can spice this to your liking - leave the seeds in the jalapeño to fire it up or remove to take off the heat.
