The Madagascar Margarita is a new twist on the ever-expanding Margarita line-up and it is quite tasty with a little sweet and a little spice.
The modifier in this cocktail is not an orange liqueur but a vanilla liqueur. Navan is the original liqueur that this drink was made for, but unfortunately it is no longer being produced. There are other vanilla liqueur options such as Tuaca available to use as a substitute.
A kick is added to contrast the soft vanilla and in this instance it comes from a jalapeno pepper. You can spice it up to your tastes by using a bit more pepper, but take it easy as it's easy to burn a drink. Also, the spice can be increased by leaving more of the seeds in, or you can tame it down by removing the majority of the seeds.
