Ilene Steinberg at I bar in Tribeca created this orange Margarita in honor of the New York Mets' bid for the 2006 World Series Championship. The Miracle Margarita is a cocktail that has it all: orange liquid with a blue sugar rim, a great tequila and a splash of the bubbly for subtle celebration.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Partida Blanco Tequila
  • 2 oz fresh squeezed orange juice
  • 1 oz Grand Marnier
  • splash of Veuve Clicquot Champagne
  • lime wedge
  • lemon wedge
  • orange wheel for garnish
  • blue sugar for rimming (optional)

Preparation:

  1. Squeeze lemon and lime wedges into a mixing glass full of ice.
  2. Add Partida, orange juice and Grand Marnier.
  3. Shake.
  4. Strain into a margarita or martini glass rimmed with blue sugar.
  5. Float 1 oz of Veuve Clicquot champagne atop.
  6. Garnish with an orange wheel.
  7. Celebrate the Miracle!
