I received this recipe while visiting the Sauza Tequila distillery and immediately fell in love with the flavor combination. The tamarind is a sweet and sour fruit with a unique flavor and here it is accented by rimming the glass with chili pepper. The bartender rimmed the glasses Tajin Fruit Seasoning and not only is it great this purpose, it is handy to store in the cupboard to sprinkle on fruits, popcorn or anytime chili powder is called for.
Ingredients:
- 4 oz blanco tequila
- 3 oz tamarind concentrate
- 1 oz simple syrup
- chili powder for rimming
- 1 cup ice
Preparation:
- Pour the ice, tequila, tamarind concentrate and simple syrup into a blender.
- Blend until smooth.
- Rim a chilled margarita glass with chili powder.
- Pour the blended contents into the glass.
