Shooters and dessert-flavored vodkas are designed to be fun additions to a celebration and when the two come together such as they do in the Roasted Mellow, the party is sure to start off with a bang. There are two aspects of this shooter that I truly enjoy. One is the fact that it tastes great and, though it may be on the sweet side, it is not one of those that are overly sweet. It is a smooth, tasty drink that could easily be converted into a larger serving for a slow sipper. The other great part of this drink is the use of the Scotch. Lagavulin is a single malt from Islay and in this instance just a small amount is used to rinse the glass, but those few drops do a wonderful job of balancing out the drink and cuts some of that sweetness of the other ingredients.
