When autumn hits, many people search for a Pumpkin Martini, but let me introduce you to a tall pumpkin drink that is quite interesting. Possibly the best part of this recipe is that you do not need to hunt down a pumpkin liqueur, instead a little pumpkin puree will give you the flavor you need.
Now, what we do not see in many pumpkin-flavored cocktails is ginger and that is what first drew my attention to the Pumpkin Spice. The two flavors are a natural compliment and in this case the ginger comes via my favorite of SKYY Vodka's flavors. The vodka is nice and spicy, it grabs your attention and holds it with the complex flavor and it is great to mix with and it is really nice here with the fresh pumpkin.
The only thing I would add to this recipe is to top it off with a sweeter ginger ale such as Vernor's. It really doesn't need it, but I found it to be a nice addition.
