I was asked to create an original cocktail for About.com that would be called the "About.com Red Ball" and this recipe was the result. It seemed in the process that everything was good except one thing was missing. The missing link was a shot of pomegranate vodka. The addition of that one ingredient in place of clear vodka made the difference I was looking for and balanced the drink out nicely.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 oz pomegranate vodka
- 1 oz coconut rum
- 1 oz crème de almond
- 1/2 oz sweet vermouth
- dash of lime juice
- maraschino cherry for garnish
Preparation:
- Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Shake well.
- Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
- Drop a maraschino cherry in the glass for a garnish.
