The Basil North is an excellent, fresh, herbal cocktail that was created by Miles Davies of the Green & Red in London. You can think of the taste as a kind of basil-infused cross between an Apple Martini and a Lemon Drop and, personally, I think this one blows both of those out of the water.
Since you are shaking herbs in the drink, you do want to be certain to fine strain and/or double strain it to ensure that you don't have anything left floating in the glass.

Total Time: 3 minutes
Yield: 1 Cocktail
- 25 ml (approx. 3/4 ounce) apple juice
- 50 ml (approx. 1 3/4 ounces) Cape North Vodka
- 2 basil leaves
- Juice of 1/2 a lemon
- Dash of sugar
- Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
- Shake well.
- Fine strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
