The Bull Shot is a drink for acquired tastes, one that you will either love or hate, and one that actually makes a great brunch drink or alternative to the Bloody Mary. Personally I can't get into this one, but some people swear by it.

There is a lot of beef bouillon in the Bull Shot and you can use your sauces and spices to adapt it to your personal taste. Some people will also serve this drink warm during the winter months

Prep Time: 3 minutes

Total Time: 3 minutes

Yield: 1 Cocktail

  • 1 1/2 ounces vodka
  • 3 ounces chilled beef bouillon
  • Dash of lemon juice
  • 2 dashes Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 dashes Tabasco sauce
  • Fresh ground pepper to taste
  • Celery salt (optional)
  • Lemon wedge for garnish

  1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  2. Shake well.
  3. Strain into a highball glass filled with ice.

Bull shot is best when served hot. We drink it in the winter, when you go to the races or out on days shooting , open a flask and you will see just how many takers will line up for a cup. You can also add a touch of chilli to give an extra kick.
