Garden Jubilee Cocktail

I created this drink after many trials and errors when experimenting with Three Olives Tomato vodka. I was looking for something different to mix with this uniquely infused vodka and the Garden Jubilee was the answer. What this drink does is combine the flavors of the "vegetable" garden with sweet citrus for a unique sweet and sour cocktail. I chose to include a bit of sugar for its texture and use the guava nectar as the main sweetener because of its subtlety. You can make your own orange water by lightly flavoring water with fresh orange juice or buying one of the flavored waters on the market.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz tomato vodka
  • 1 oz gin
  • 1/4 oz lemon juice
  • 1 large, fresh basil leaf, chopped
  • splash of orange water
  • 1 tsp guava nectar
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 2 dashes of orange bitters

Preparation:

  1. Muddle the basil, orange water, guava nectar and sugar in a mixing glass or cocktail shaker base.
  2. Add the vodka, gin and lemon juice and fill with ice.
  3. Shake well.
  4. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
  5. Add a couple dashes of orange bitters.
