I created this cocktail because I wanted to pair gin with one of the new espresso vodkas (Van Gogh and Three Olives - I used Van Gogh's Double Espresso). These vodkas tend to be thicker, so I found that the vermouth, along with gin, cuts some of that and a dash of orange bitters sets it off nicely, adding a little fruit to the taste. If you want to garnish the Ginspresso Martini, add a few coffee beans in the glass before straining or float a burnt orange peel on top.
