Old-fashioned Glass

Glass Guide- Old-fashioned Glass

For a simple mixed drink with the flavor of the tropics, the Pearl Harbor is an excellent choice. It calls for vodka, although some people will ask for pineapple vodka. Personally, I find that is an overkill of pineapple and masks the melon flavoring to the point where its almost unrecognizable. Bartenders, add this drink to your list of "drinks to know."

Very tasty., Member thusled

This is an excellent cocktail that goes down smooth. The pineapple is a tad overpowering (as in very overpowering), so you may want to add a touch more vodka and melon liqueur than the recipe suggests, otherwise you'll mostly feel like you're drinking pineapple juice. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but the drink can be made much more unique with different ratios. I'd say experiment, and suggest putting more emphasis on the melon liqueur to bring that flavor to the fore.
