This Run for the Roses cocktail is a delightful mixed drink that Grey Goose revealed to celebrate the 135th Kentucky Derby. It is filled with flavors of the South including orange and peach with a traditional southern iced tea to bring it all together. I think the rose petal garnish is a very nice touch and you have to love any drink with a Chambord float. As intended, this could be used as a great alternative to the Derby's traditional Mint Julep.

Recipe makes 2 drinks.

Ingredients:

  • 3 parts Grey Goose L'Orange flavored vodka
  • 2 parts peach brandy
  • 2 parts southern sweet iced tea
  • 2 parts fresh lime juice
  • 2 rose petals for garnish
  • Chambord for floating

Preparation:

  1. Add first four ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  2. Shake vigorously until the outside of shaker is frosted and beaded with sweat.
  3. Strain into two rocks glasses filled with crushed ice.
  4. Pour Chambord so that it floats on the top of the drink.
  5. Garnish drink with rose petals.
