The Soul Trip Tipple is a concoction I really enjoyed in my experiments with nectars as drink sweeteners, replacing simple syrups and sour mixes. This cocktail uses guava nectar, a readily available ingredient that you should be able to find in the juice section of most grocery stores. It adds the sweetness the drink needs as well as contributing a great tropical fruit flavor. I also liked the look of the drink when served in a white wine glass as it allows ample room for the raspberries to float to the top. An added bonus: when you're done with the drink you have 3 spiked raspberries to enjoy, they're delicious!

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1/2 oz guava nectar
  • 1/2 oz lemon juice
  • 2 dashes of bitters
  • 3 fresh raspberries for garnish

Preparation:

  1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  2. Shake well.
  3. Strain into a well-chilled white wine glass with raspberries dropped in the bottom.
