We often see flavored vodka cocktails that are rather drab because they rely on mixing them with common combinations. That is not the case in this Starry Lime cocktail. The combination of Van Gogh's Wild Appel Vodka, cranberry and basil is unique and creates a tasty sipper. The key to releasing the full flavor of the basil is to tear the leaves into small (but not too small) pieces - down to about 2-3 pieces depending on the size of the leaf - in order to release the essence of the herb when it is combined with the other ingredients.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 oz Van Gogh Wild Appel Vodka
- 1 oz Cranberry Juice
- 5 Basil Leaves, torn
- Juice of half a lime
- basil leaf for garnish
Preparation:
- Add Van Gogh Wild Appel Vodka, cranberry juice, basil and lime juice into a shaker filled with ice.
- Shake vigorously and strain into a rocks glass filled with ice.
- Garnish with a fresh basil leaf.
