The Bottom Line
Versailles King's Vodka is
distilled six times from 100% pure grain wheat grown in the northern France and mixed with water from the esteemed Cognac region. It is a smooth, clean
vodka with the slightest hints of flavor and an amazingly clean finish. Versailles is one of three super-premium vodkas (including
Emperor and
Winter Palace) produced by Emperor Brands that together make a stunning vodka portfolio, each with their own distinct characteristics. This bottling is rich and pleasant and falls between its two counterparts in all aspects.

Guide Review - Versailles King's Vodka
Versailles King's Vodka has flavor notes inside, which is always nice to see in a vodka and in my opinion defines a super-premium vodka (along with a considerable amount of smoothness, of course). It is not quite as smooth as Winter Palace but holds the "complex" flavor of Emperor. Versailles' luscious qualities make it perfect for sweeter cocktails like the
Chocolate Martini,
Black Martini and
Hello Kitty. It also performs well with Champagne in the
Champanska. Versailles' profile fit that of my
Garden Jubilee, in which it contributed a little complexity and had a mellowing affect on the other, very earthy ingredients.
Tasting Notes:
The nose of Versailles is reminiscent of a field of wheat on a hot, summer day and is bright and enlightening. The palate leads with a velvety, warm entry and opens the way for a brilliant mix of bright citrus and lusciously subtle chocolate-caramel. The finish is slightly bitter but pleasant and short.
