Operation Whisky Maker

The Glenrothes offers the opportunity of a lifetime

From

Operation Whisky MakerBerry Brothers and Rudd

The Glenrothes, one of Speyside's finest single malt scotch whiskies is offering whisky enthusiasts the opportunity of a lifetime. Dubbed "Operation Whisky Maker", four lucky individuals will get to spend a week in Speyside working as  an official Glenrothes whisky maker, a unique chance to get behind the scenes at a working whisky distillery.

Ronnie Cox, Keeper of the Quaich and Glenrothes brand heritage director and Glenrothes Master Malter Gordon Motion are the hosts for the lucky winners. The participants will spend time learning and honing their skills at each stage of the craft of whisky making, from testing the fresh water source that runs alongside the distillery, to milling, mashing, fermentation and distillation. Whisky makers will be rolling up their sleeves at the cooperage, laying down casks for maturation, learning to nose whisky from maturing casks, and selecting casks to be bottled as The Glenrothes single malt whisky. Each of the winners will produce their own selection of The Glenrothes – labeled with their own hand-written tasting notes.

To enter, visit www.theglenrothes.com/whiskymaker and tell the judges why you are uniquely qualified to undertake this exciting task. Make sure to enter by January 31, 2011 to have your chance to win this exciting prize.
