Irish whiskey is eminently mixable and can star in cocktails ranging from the relatively simple drinks like the Irish Coffee to sophisticated examples of the mixologists art. Portland bartender Jacob Grier created the Massey cocktail as a tribute to his Irish grandmother.
Combining Tullamore Dew blended Irish whiskey with gin, sweet vermouth, green Chartreuse and Campari, Grier has created one of the most elegant Irish whiskey cocktails you'll ever taste. Ingredients:
- 1 oz Tullamore Dew Irish whiskey
- 1 oz Bombay Sapphire gin
- 3/4 oz Carpano Antica sweet vermouth
- 1/4 oz Green Chartreuse
- 1/8 oz Campari
- orange twist
Preparation:
- In a mixing glass add all ingredients except orange twist.
- Add ice, stir vigorously for 30 seconds.
- Strain into a chilled martini glass.
- Garnish with an orange twist.
