From Wine to Waikiki was created by the Ame at The St. Regis San Francisco's bartender Shawn Beck. Beck was able to see a few scenes being shot in Hawaii of the George Clooney movie The Descendants. The movie was a hit and I suspect the drink will be as well, especially for your red carpet party.
The feature of this cocktail is the foam produced by the egg white, which becomes infused with the drink's flavors as it is shaken. Most of the drink is dark, contributed by the combination of whiskey and red wine, though a touch of brightness comes through via pineapple juice and this is what makes the drink stand out and keeps it from being drab.
