Buenos Aires finest boutique hotel, the Fierro, located in the tony Palermo Hollywood district is also known for outstanding craft cocktails, excellent wines and gourmet foods. Luckily, the renowned mixologist at the Fierro, Martin Bruno, is willing to share one of his original creations. The Kentucky Tea features lemon juice, honey, eucalyptus and bourbon to make a complex, refreshing and entirely unique summertime drink. Make sure to make the lemon, mint eucalyptus infusion first and use a high quality bourbon like Woodford Reserve for best results.

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Total Time: 20 minutes

Yield: 1 cocktail

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Kentucky straight bourbon (Woodford Reserve recommended)
  • 1/2 oz lemon juice
  • 3 oz lemon/mint/eucalyptus infusion (1 bag Smith Teamaker Mint tea brewed in 1 c hot water with lemon peel and 1 eucalyptus leaf added for 15 minutes, then strained. Add honey to taste)

Preparation:

  1. Fill an old fashioned glass with crushed ice.
  2. Add bourbon.
  3. Add lemon juice.
  4. Add lemon/mint/eucalyptus infusion and stir to incorporate.
  5. Garnish with a fresh mint sprig.
  6. Serve.
