Choose your favorite bourbon for this delightful Halloween cocktail because it deserves nothing short of the best. The Peaches and Scream is a thick, delicious mix of many of the favorite flavors of fall including apples, peaches, and cinnamon, and with the right bourbon (I chose Basil Hayden's) it is a stellar drink.
There are a couple of notes that are necessary with this recipe. One is that apple butter syrup is not common, but is available. It may be hiding at your local grocer or natural foods market, and there are plenty of options available online.
Second, if you notice, the recipe calls for no shaking and no ice. I thought this was a typo at first and did double check that, yes, this is how the Gerber Bars are making The Peaches and Scream. I have had the drink both shaken and not and both are great drinks, I think this will be a matter of personal preference, especially given how heavy the ingredients are.
For the 2012 Halloween season, you can find this drink (and those recommended below the recipe) at these New York City bars: Stone Rose Lounge, Lilium, Whiskey Blue, Whiskey Park, Living Room. More info about all of the venues at GerberBars.com
