This is one of my favorite cocktails to slowly sip on when I'm distracted by an intense task (like writing or anything on the computer) and want a short, neat cocktail. It seems simple and against most bartending rules, but building the drink in a cocktail glass and adding a couple ice cubes chills the drink and slowly mixes as it becomes diluted. This allows you to enjoy a sip or two of the rich, freshly chilled mix and 40 minutes later you have a bourbon-y fruit juice.
Ingredients:
- 2 oz bourbon whiskey
- 3/4 oz Chambord liqueur
- 1/2 oz cranberry juice
- dash of lemon bitters or a lemon twist for garnish
Preparation:
- Build the ingredients in a cocktail glass over two ice cubes.
- Add a few dashes of lemon bitters or garnish with a lemon twist.
