Here is a truly classic cocktail that is a delightful mix of three interesting spirits. According to Crockett in The Old Waldorf-Astoria Bar Book, the name refers not to a Full House in poker, but to the one in bridge - or at least before as it was played before the game was reconstructed by Ely Culbertson prior to the early 1900's. Getting back to the drink, the mix of apple whiskey, Benedictine and Chartreuse is somewhere near divine.
Ingredients:
- 3/4 oz apple whiskey
- 3/4 oz Benedictine
- 3/4 oz Yellow Chartreuse
- dash of Angostura aromatic bitters
Preparation:
- Pour the ingredients into a mixing glass filled with ice.
- Stir well.
- Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
