The concern over global warming spanned the headlines over and over again in 2007 and bartender Michael Becker, of Portland Steak and Chophouse in Portland, Oregon, created this cocktail named for the environmental tragedy. The Global Warmer is like a bourbon-mint Margarita and the recommended Basil Hayden's makes the cocktail one fantastic experience. In the spirit of the drink, do what you can for the environment. Little things like buying ingredients locally, walking to the store and recycling the bottles can make a big impact in the long run.

Ingredients:

  • 6 torn mint leaves
  • 1/4 part DeKuyper Tropical Mango liqueur
  • 1 1/2 part lime sour mix
  • 1/2 part DeKuyper Triple Sec liqueur
  • 1 1/2 part Basil Hayden's Bourbon
  • mint leaf for garnish
  • lime twist for garnish

Preparation:

  1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  2. Shake well.
  3. Strain into a cocktail glass.
  4. Garnish with a lime twist and mint leaf.
