While this is a modern creation, the Something Positive cocktail is a throwback to the Golden Era of cocktails, as its is simple, elegant and far more than the sum of its parts. Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 oz Johnnie Walker Red Label blended Scotch whisky
- 3/4 oz Cointreau
- 3/4 oz Lustau PX sherry
- 1 dash Angostura bitters
- 1 dash Peychauds bitters
- Lemon twist garnish
Preparation:
- Combine first three ingredients in a mixing glass.
- Add both bitters.
- Add ice.
- Stir vigorously for 45 seconds.
- Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
- Express the oils from the lemon twist over the surface of the cocktail.
- Discard lemon twist.
- Serve.
