New Old-fashioned Cocktail

The New Old-fashioned is a fruity take on the classic version of the Old-fashioned, which was invented in the heart of bourbon country, Louisville, Kentucky. This new recipe comes from Woodford Reserve as a way to enhance one of the distinguishable flavors of the bourbon, peach. It is that use of peach and blackberries that make this cocktails the New Old-fashioned.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tbsp simple syrup
  • 5 dashes of bitters
  • 1 peach slice
  • 2 1/2 oz Woodford Reserve Bourbon Whiskey
  • ice cubes
  • 1 peach slice
  • 2 blackberries
  • splash of sparkling water

Preparation:

  1. Muddle the simple syrup, bitters and 1 peach slice in the bottom of an old-fashioned glass.
  2. Add the bourbon, ice cubes, 1 peach slice, the blackberries and sparkling water.
  3. Stir to combine.
