Old-fashioned Glass

Glass Guide- Old-fashioned Glass

This cocktail is perfect for the really chilly days when a cold drink just won't do. Consider the Warm Old-fashioned the same great cocktail as the classic Old-fashioned, just topped off with a little warm water, a great way to end the day. Old-fashioned fans, don't despair, that small splash of club soda is still there to contribute its share of effervescence and this recipe is from Maker's Mark where they know what a good bourbon drink is.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Maker's Mark bourbon
  • Angostura bitters
  • 1 sugar cube
  • 1 orange slice
  • 1 maraschino cherry
  • club soda
  • hot water
  • orange slice and cherry for garnish

Preparation:

  1. Place one sugar cube into the bottom of an old-fashioned glass and add 3 dashes of Angostura bitters directly to the sugar cube as much as possible.
  2. Add one orange slice, one cherry, and a splash of soda and muddle thoroughly.
  3. Remove the fruit remnants.
  4. Add 2 ounces of Maker’s Mark Bourbon, ice, and top off with warm water.
  5. Garnish with a fresh orange slice and a cherry.
